~~Library Rules ~~


1) All TAOA members can borrow books from our library. Your membership number is also your library card number.

2) Every member on his/her first borrow from the library will have to pay a deposit of $40.00. TAOA will issue a receipt. With this receipt, a member can obtain a refund of his/her deposit when he/she ceases to become a member of TAOA.

3) The deposit is for compensation for loss or damage to books or magazines on loan.

4) Each member is entitled to borrow two books or six magazines, mix or match, at any one time. Borrowing and returning of the items will be done at our bi-monthly meetings. In other words, the period of loan will last from one meeting to the subsequent one.

5) A list of our available publications will be found at our web site (www.taoa.ca). Reservations can be made on line or at our bi-monthly meetings. Besides, our librarian will bring an extra 20 books/magazines to our bi-monthly meetings for immediate loan.

6) Penalty and compensation :
a) A fine of $2.00 per day will be imposed on overdue items. The maximum fine will be $20.00 or equal to the price of the book/magazine (including tax) whichever is the less.  If one anticipates that he/she will not be able to return the borrowed items on the due date, he/she should notify Mrs. Wong (416-298-9635) at least three days before due date to make special arrangement for return.
b) If the fine is not paid by the next bi-monthly meeting or earlier, it will be deducted from his/her deposit. Besides, the borrower will lose his/her right for further borrowing.
c) Any loss or damaged to article(s) borrowed will be repaid for by the borrower according to the price (plus applicable tax) set out by TAOA.

7) TAOA reserves the right to lend or not to lend out our books/magazines to any member.
